Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation)

Terran Orbital Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in machine, robotics, and industrial automation. The?Position?would be responsible for designing automation stations/lines, robot tooling, and fixtures. A candidate in this role would also be responsible work with the automation team to provide automation design concepts and solutions. Reporting to the Automation Manager, the Position will have extensive experience in automation.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Design automation station and tooling & fixture?
• Generate and review design drawings and specification documents
• Deliver automation solutions and design concepts
• Perform automation and tooling fixture design services for new automation projects
• Track project deliverables, and provide status updates to the project team?

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and 8 years’ experience, or Master’s degree In Engineering and 5 years’ experience
• Minimum of 8 years applicable automation system experience
• Minimum of 5 years in the mechanical design
• Ability to generate mechanical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of UL standards and OSHA regulations
• Strong Knowledge of automation system, including hydraulic and pneumatic and robot system
• Demonstrate good organizational and time utilization skills
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of 3D design software: SolidWorks
• Ability to work both with team and independently
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with an ability to interact well with a variety of personalities, discipline skills and educational levels
• Hands on mechanical skills?
• Energy and passion to invent and create new solutions, challenge the status quo and drive positive change
• Ability and willingness to go above and beyond one’s comfort zone when it comes to learning about other

This is largely a sedentary role with heavy computer usage. Position may require incumbent to move files, walk around the office, and bend/stand as necessary.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
