Duties of Position The Electronics Technician Maintenance, applies basic technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Experience performing overhauls and repairs on any of the following shipboard electronics systems: High Frequency (HF), Radio Frequency (RF), High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), or Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems. Operational knowledge of URN-25, WSC-3, USQ-122, SSR-1, URT-23, DAMA, WRL-8, STC-2 a plus. Required Skills & Experience Two (2), four (4), or five (5) years current C4ISR or other relevant experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation and deinstallation of electronic systems, equipment, components, antennas, cables, cableways, waveguides and ducts, while using logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes. This position requires a Secret US DoD security clearance. Preferred Skills Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008 and 2015. Additional Notes Completion of an appropriate military “A” school and completion of at least one appropriate military “B” or “C” school may be substituted for the two year requirement; Associate’s or higher in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), Technology Management (TM), Information Systems (IS), Information Resources Management (IRM), Information Technology (IT) or Physics.
