EMR Indexers are primarily responsible for reviewing, correctly indexing and subsequently uploading incoming hardcopy and/or faxed patient reports and information into patient charts.
Candidates must be familiar with and able to accurately and productively prep, scan and index documents.
Must also effectively assist physicians, other staff, and customers in locating and/or must provide information needed from the EMR.
Candidates must work well independently and have the knowledge and/or experience needed to effectively assist in resolving prepping, scanning, indexing, documentation upload and/or MPI integrity issues which arise.
Education and formal training: Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field or related experience in the health information management field preferred.
Work Experience: Two years of experience in a health information management or similar setting with emphasis on data entry and data integrity.
Computer experience must include use of word processing, windows, and functions involving data entry.
Preference to candidates with hospital or related health care experience.Schedule: Saturday-Sunday (3 on 1 off)
