Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated Senior Motor Controls Engineer based at our Irvine, CA, location. Terran Orbital is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to commercial and government customers.
You will join a collaborative team to develop innovative small satellite vehicle solutions for multiple projects. The individual will contribute towards the design of spacecraft actuators, including Reaction Wheels and Solar Array Drive Assemblies (SADA) capable of withstanding launch vehicle and space environments. Responsibilities include analysis, high-fidelity modeling, and design/implementation of the current, torque, and speed control loops. The ideal candidate will have experience in motor control systems, servo, stepper, BLDC motors, embedded systems, control theory, digital signal processing, micro-vibration analysis, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), software (C, Matlab, Simulink), and communication protocols (RS422, SPI, I2C, HDLC, CRC, etc.).
